Archives -- Articles I've Written Topics on which I've written ( or by others) that I have used to stimulate the heart and mind of the reader to search for the truth using God's Word as the point of reference, praying His Holy Spirit will provide illumination. I am not infallible. This is not to try to convince you--but to challenge and stimulate. "Knowledge is not the issue." The issue is your personal, intimate, and unique relationship with Jesus Christ, and what He did for you (and me) at the Cross on Calvary. But, if we can 'reinforce' our faith with knowledge and understanding, then, we can better be used by the Lord to help or teach others. In that, I hope this supports you. Why should 'a believer' spend time in the Word of God, the Bible? Here is a link to explain this: Why Spend Time in the Word? I believe that 'no one can receive the salvation of Jesus Christ' without first understanding they are lost in sin, and thus, 'need a Savior.' A heart 'broken to the Lord' for 'what He suffered and went through' for us on that Roman cross at Calvary -- precedes this. Also, so many are 'confused' about what it means 'to be a Christian' -- to be saved by Christ -- to be 'reborn' -- to become a 'follower of Christ' -- as to their own personal life-style and performance -- and to whether or not 'they can measure up' -- that I feel here I need to paste a key link addressing this -- that we need 'to keep it real' about our faith: My Personal Declaration: I am Saved! -- I am a Sinner! StillHere is a poem that really captures, for me, the feeling of being a Christian:
I AM A CHRISTIAN by Maya Angelou
When I say... "I am a Christian" I'm not shouting "I'm clean livin." I'm whispering "I was lost," Now I'm found and forgiven.
When I say..."I am a Christian" I don't speak of this with pride. I'm confessing that I stumble and need CHRIST to be my guide.
When I say... "I am a Christian" I'm not trying to be strong. I'm professing that I'm weak and need HIS strength to carry on.
When I say.. "I am a Christian" I'm not bragging of success. I'm admitting I have failed and need God to clean my mess.
When I say... "I am a Christian" I'm not claiming to be perfect, My flaws are far too visible but, God believes I am worth it.
When I say.. "I am a Christian" I still feel the sting of pain, I have my share of heartaches So I call upon His name.
When I say... "I am a Christian" I'm not holier than thou, I'm just a simple sinner who received God's good grace, somehow.
