Mission and Purpose Statement:

“Keeping It Real!”

This is NOT ‘organized religion’…nor ‘denomination’…nor am I ‘trying to tell anyone what  to do’…this is about my faith and how I feel about it and what I believe the Word of God imparts to me…

This is about ‘my relationship with God through Jesus Christ’…

My ‘Hero’ is Jesus Christ…there is a ‘war’ – a ‘supernatural/spiritual war’ and the enemy: Satan, his fiends and minions (supernatural powers) …are against God, against Christ – the Son of God, and ‘the followers of Christ.’

Our goal is ‘to set prisoners free’ from ‘slavery to sin’…by introducing them (through this site) to Christ – then helping to mentor them (teach them) in relationship to Him and with Him…

The Call to Battle:

Eph 6:10-17 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might. Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore, take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm. Stand firm therefore, HAVING GIRDED YOUR LOINS WITH TRUTH, and HAVING PUT ON THE BREASTPLATE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS, and having shod YOUR FEET WITH THE PREPARATION OF THE GOSPEL OF PEACE; in addition to all, taking up the shield of faith with which you will be able to extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. And take THE HELMET OF SALVATION, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

There is ‘no neutral ground’…all are involved – all must choose on which side they are – whom will they serve – God in Christ — or Satan.

(To ‘not choose’ is to ‘choose Satan.’)

This is ‘Not’ for the ‘faint hearted’ – but for: ‘warriors convicted by Christ’…’spiritual warriors’… ‘prayer warriors’ …willing to stand up for Jesus…but also warriors who are ‘peaceful-in-spirit’…’gentle warriors’…’patient warriors’…

I am not ‘conventional’ – never have been — thus I try to  “Keep It Real!”

It’s from my heart. I am NOT an ‘ordained by mankind minister or preacher’…

I am NOT ‘an authority’….

I am NOT ‘holier than you or anyone else’…

I am NOT ‘self-righteous’…

I am Not ‘better than anyone’…

I am a sinner saved by the merciful grace of God through Jesus Christ by faith in Him….formed on the ‘anvil of life’ by Him…now sharing my faith in Christ — my understanding of Scripture…feeling God has spoken to me through my life and His Spirit and Holy Word (which I think is infallible – the continuing revelation of God to mankind) and through saints He has brought into my life…

Thus, I share with you… “Keeping It Real!” is the way I hope to encourage, empower, stimulate and yes, challenge you, and others…

My personal goal: To be used ‘as a vessel for the Lord’…plain speaking…not ‘politically correct’…sometimes a little ‘rough around the edges’… ’encouraging you to study God’s Word’ seeing if I’m ‘in harmony with it’…challenging me if I’m not…

There are those not satisfied – not being fully-fed with ‘pre-packaged religion’ or ‘their community church’…

Maybe ‘they do not even attend one’…

This is NOT to ‘replace’ that ‘community’…

We encourage your ‘participating in a local church community’…

This is a ‘supplement’…speaking ‘increase’ and ‘value’ into your life as demonstrated by God’s love of you.

To also present ‘meat of the word’ and ‘not just the milk’…though we present the ‘milk’ for those needing it…as I also need it.

Life today ‘just isn’t clearly defined’…with really tough and ‘touchy issues’ not being addressed – or often being ‘sugar coated’ — so ‘not to offend anyone’…

Thus many – ‘especially the men’ — have ‘abdicated leadership’ to a ‘pastor authority’… and don’t invest themselves into study and training in God’s word…so they can ‘challenge and sift them’ to ‘hold them accountable’… which should also stimulate them.

“Steel sharpens steel” the saying goes. Without stimulus and challenge, the ‘message heard’ can become ‘shallow’ — not bringing full ‘glory to God’…and ‘the traditions of man’ in the local church even becoming contrary to the ‘heart of God’ for us as revealed by His Word…which does not change with culture…as some would represent.

Thus:

  • I. To encourage those who have ‘backslidden’…who feel they ‘have not lived their lives as Christ would desire them’…have ‘not lived up’–have ’not measured up’ to their ‘expectations’ of ‘themselves, their family, church or religious group’… or to what they feel is God’s expectations in Christ…

To those who may feel they have been ‘socially ostracized’ (even a form of being excommunicated by their church family)…because I certainly was one who ‘felt this’…in my youth… I did not fully understand where that ‘positioned me’ in the ‘family of God’…

Did that get me ‘kicked out of the family of God?’  Which is what I felt…

Was the maintaining of God’s salvation to me in Christ ‘based upon my performance?’ ( which I feel is one of the ‘great deceptions’ being sometimes taught by ‘well-meaning churches’ – that ‘unless you maintain it’ — you can ‘lose it’)

I do NOT believe that ‘once saved, you can lose your salvation in Christ!’

I believe ‘once saved, always saved’…and thus, I have great empathy for those troubled in this way.

I also do not believe the ‘grace of God dulls human responsibility’ here on earth. I do believe our choices while here on earth have consequences…good or bad…

My heart is burdened to encourage those who ‘feel they have lost their salvation in Christ’ – to assure them that ‘once saved, always saved!’

I feel so strongly about this I am repeating it!

The concept of one’s ‘loss of salvation’ because of ‘their performance or lack thereof’ can create ‘tremendous guilt’ — failing first our Savior, then ourselves, our family, and our church community, — and ‘this guilt can then cause deep anger, even more rebellion’…as it did in me…for over 30 years.

(A youth minister told me that most of the ‘troubled’ teen-agers he counsels ‘feel they have lost their salvation’ – a horrible, devastating feeling – one that really impacts their ‘self-esteem.’)

I feel God wants us to have ‘assurance’…not doubt, fear, and confusion.

He is not a God of confusion nor like some ‘avenging angel’ waiting for us ‘to screw up’ so He can ‘swoop down’ and ‘punish us.’

He is a God of second chances, third chances, fiftieth chances, and thousandth chances… ‘once saved’ we are ‘His children’…forever!

(And note: We are called ‘children of God’ – ‘not adults.’)

No one ‘measures up’…and no one is ‘worthy’…and no one can live the ‘perfect Christian life’…if ‘that were possible’ — if ‘our performance’ could ‘justify us’ and ‘make us righteous and holy’…Jesus Christ need never have come to die for us on a Roman cross.

  • II. To share ‘my Hero’ – Jesus Christ! – With those who do not know Him!

We need to share Christ as ‘our Hero’…

Too many try to portray Him as a ‘passive’ – ‘turn the other cheek’ guy…’as the suffering servant.’

Yes, all true — but tell that to the ‘money-changers’ He ‘ran out of the Temple in Jerusalem with a whip…to the religious leaders of Israel He confronted….to Pontius Pilate…to those who watched Him suffer on the cross…and never shirk His duty and obedience to God the Father…tell that to Pharaoh of Egypt, and the enemies of Israel…

Jesus Christ is the Jehovah of the Old Testament…He is our Hero!

  • III. To share ‘based on Scripture’ the ‘miracle of God’s salvation gift to us in Christ Jesus’…the ‘salvation experience’ in distinct – separate components — yet complete total experience….for better understanding…

Of being saved by grace through faith – a free gift of salvation in Christ: that you ‘cannot earn it’……it was all done by Christ for you…that no one ‘deserves it’…it is based upon Christ’s performance, not yours…

That you cannot ‘manipulate God to love you more’…He has already demonstrated the highest love ever…in sending His only Son to ‘take your place’ and ‘die for you’ on the cross…in ‘just’ payment for the penalty for your sin against God the Father in order to provide the bridge to ‘redeem you’ – and ‘reconcile you’ eternally to God the Father.

To help people understand that at the ‘instantaneous moment of the miracle by God’ of you receiving ‘salvation in Christ’…you are ‘forever sealed by God’s Holy Spirit’…and ‘reborn spiritually’… at your ‘spiritual birth’ you become a ‘child of God’…forever ‘in the family of God’…it is the strongest link…and cannot be broken!

♥   IV. To share that “Once saved, always saved!”

To share with people…that once you are ‘reborn’ spiritually…the “Relationship Experience With God In Christ Begins”…and lasts Forever!

(Prior to your ‘being reborn in Christ’ – you had ‘no relationship with God the Father’ – you were considered His enemy.)

Being a child of God ‘is conditional’ on accepting His Son as Savior and Lord.

To share with people that ‘Relationship’ – just as in any family has its ‘ups and downs’… can be ‘very fragile’…even ‘be broken’…and also can ‘be restored’ (which is God’s will for us as shown in 1 John 1:8-10).

But, ‘your position and person’ in the ‘family of God’ is never ‘in jeopardy’ …’breaking relationship is NOT loss of salvation!’

Yes, God uses discipline to form us and correct us. As children we need His guidance, counsel, and discipline…which are given in love…because He knows what is best for us…and only desires the best for us…

He knows ‘our choices have consequences’…but, He is our Heavenly Father…. once saved, we are His children…forever!

God’s three “R’s” are: Redemption, Reconciliation, and Restoration.

Thus: Salvation in Christ is an instantaneous and eternal miracle transforming us and giving us our eternal spiritual birth…

Relationship to God in Christ is a life-long process…beginning at our being ‘reborn’…

Glorification is for us in Heaven…and will be our eternal body…and abode…with and in Christ…forever…

Understanding this can be extremely beneficial to a ‘believer’ in their daily ‘walk and communion with God in Christ Jesus’…and, I will present and have written commentary on this with Scripture references for your study and meditation…not to ‘convince you’ but to ‘stimulate and challenge your own search of God’s Word for His truth’…

Thus, it is my hope that  “Keeping It Real!” can be used by God to ‘touch lives’… and those so touched will invite others to this site…

In Him,
Bill Watts
