Looking at Psalm 27 in Relation to the Arrest and Trial of Jesus Christ

Published by Cowboy Bill Watts under Psalms

God’s Word is the ‘revelation of Himself’ to His creation, termed ‘mankind.’ Thus, in all of His Word, there is also revelation of His Son, Jesus Christ—-someone has said that in the Old Testament it is Christ ‘hidden’ and the New Testament is Christ ‘revealed.’

For me, the beauty of the entire Bible is its total harmony—-and that we can see God revealed in the fullness of the Trinity: The Father, The Son, and the Holy Spirit.

But as we are drawn to Him through the Scriptures, and see Christ, it is so special as each nuance of Him is revealed to us—-especially as we see Him in the Old Testament—-and then, that fulfilled in the New Testament.

The Aging Process in our Bodies

The ‘aging process in our bodies’ can be ‘challenging’—-even painful, and eventually terminal—-so how do we get any comfort and  peace as we ‘go through this?’

This morning, out of a deep sleep, I awakened for some reason at 4:30 AM (which is about 2& ½ hours earlier than my usual time), and couldn’t go back to sleep, so got out of bed, went downstairs, made some hot tea, and spent time in God’s Word.

I am so glad that for so many years, I have accepted God’s Word as infallible, as His divinely inspired revealing of Himself to His creation, and His giving us our foundation for living, and an authoritative compass for our lives, and for our eternal position in Him through Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord. (There are so many reasons for ‘why’ I know the Bible is totally reliable, and, I have shared that in my writings, so I won’t go back into that now—–but the more time I spend with Him in His Word, the more I grow to depend upon it—–and receive so much comfort and peace from it being the basis or foundation for ‘knowing Him’ and thereby empowering me in my gaining an intimate, personal, and ongoing relationship with Him—–that grows even more as He illuminates more of Himself to me in His Word—-thus it is often referred to as ‘the living word.’)

As I approach my 66th birthday (May 5th, 2005), I realize I have been so blessed by Him with having exceptional health—–an ‘optimal health’ that allows me to have a wonderful ‘quality of life’ which is a true blessing when I consider so many who have struggled so, or had/have such tremendous health challenges.
