If God is in Control, Then Why Sin, Suffering and Death?

God’s ultimate purpose is His glory. Because of a limited human perspective that sees only the evil, people wonder how He can allow crime, disease, natural disasters, or war. But we know that “God causes all things to work together for good” (Romans 8:28). Look at the cross—that device of torturous death is the greatest expression of love, of good and glory in Christianity!

As we see the devastation of the Tsunami, or of famine, or of genocide in Africa, of starving children, or children dying young of disease, war, or disaster, and we hear people ‘question if there is a God,’——or if there is a God, ‘why does He allow this?’

And, it can be considered ‘natural’ to ‘question God.’ But, He is God, and so ‘is Sovereign.’ If God ‘is not in control’—-then, we are ‘all victims of fate,’ and the world is ‘out of control’—-and so is ‘our eternity.’

Does God ‘allow these events to happen? Yes.
